All3Media Grows Its U.S. Footprint with Barnicle Brothers Partnership
EXCLUSIVE: All3Media is making strides to enhance its presence in the U.S. market with a new acquisition.
The British production group has finalized a deal to acquire the New York-based documentary producer, Barnicle Brothers.
This move is part of All3Media’s ongoing unscripted strategy in the United States, following the establishment of Inner Drive Entertainment, led by Jon Barinholtz and Rob Belushi, and the addition of Jill Goslicky and Vivian Choi’s MindMeld Entertainment under Studio Lambert U.S.
Barnicle Brothers, run by Boston-born siblings Nick and Colin Barnicle, specializes in feature documentaries across sports, music, and true crime. The company will operate under All3Media America.
Their notable projects include This Is a Robbery: The World’s Biggest Art Heist for Netflix, which debuted in 2021; Carol and Johnny, centered on infamous bank robbers Johnny Williams and Carol Hawkins-Williams, which premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival; and American Godfathers: The Five Families, narrated by Michael Imperioli of The Sopranos, which aired on the History Channel.
Last year, Barnicle Brothers earned the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Documentary Series for The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox, a three-part series chronicling the team’s journey to its first World Series title in 86 years, available on Netflix.
Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Nick and Colin are the real deal – masters of storytelling with a crystal-clear creative vision and phenomenal track record. Their development slate is really strong, and I am very excited that All3Media will play a part in supporting them as they build their business.”
Nick and Colin Barnicle shared their thoughts, saying, “It had become clear to us that we needed a partner to help us expand and enhance our future plans. We are thrilled that All3Media is now that partner. The All3Media team stands out for its dogged support of its producers, its love of storytelling, and for sharing our passion and mantra of ‘good stories, told well’. This partnership allows us to bring more and better stories to the screen. We could not be happier to be joining forces with the great people of All3Media.”
