Alan Carr to Host Hulu’s New Unscripted Series ‘Castle Man’ on Disney+
Comedian and TV presenter Alan Carr has emerged victorious on the BBC’s popular reality series The Celebrity Traitors. Following his triumphant experience at the Traitor’s castle, Carr is set to pursue his long-held aspiration of acquiring a grand château.
Disney+ has officially greenlit a new series titled Castle Man (working title), which will commence filming in Scotland this Thursday. The show will document Carr’s quest to find and purchase a historic castle, a venture he hopes to manage himself. The production comes from Expectation, the same company known for Clarkson’s Farm and Alma’s Not Normal.
According to the series description, as Carr approaches his 50th birthday, he faces a pivotal moment in his life, reflecting on his goals and aspirations. A dreamy stay at The Traitor’s castle has reignited his desire to make owning a grand château a reality. Carr isn’t merely looking to visit a castle; he envisions building a life within its walls, a bold ambition entirely motivated by his own passion.
“Some men when they have a midlife crisis buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me – I want my very own castle,” Carr stated. “Since I was a boy in Northampton, I’ve always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home. As I turn fifty, I feel it’s my time. All I want is a turret to call my own – get me over that drawbridge!”
Castle Man (w/t) is being produced by Expectation, with co-CEOs Peter Fincham and Ben Wicks, along with Claire Walls and Danny Julian as executive producers. Alan Carr also serves as an executive producer for the series, which was commissioned for Disney+ by Angela Jain, head of content, and Sean Doyle, vice president of unscripted, EMEA.
