Adult Swim Approves New Animated Comedy Series, ‘My Two Cars,’ by Dan Licata and Joe Pera
Adult Swim is enhancing its lineup with a new animated comedy series titled My Two Cars. Co-created by Dan Licata, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, and Joe Pera of Joe Pera Talks With You, the series promises to deliver unique storytelling.
The show centers on a man who faces an absurdly epic daily challenge: choosing between his two cherished vehicles. The official description captures this predicament: “Imagine you are lucky enough to own both a PT Cruiser and a Mini-Cooper. Your day-to-day life would be insane! But also hard hard. Keith Asshole does not have to imagine this, and in each episode, he has to make the difficult decision which one to drive.”
Keith Asshole, an Ohio resident dealing with this dilemma, is voiced by Licata.

“Few shows (and fewer show runners) are courageous enough to explore life’s biggest questions,” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim. “But Dan and Joe are more than brave enough to confront head-on the perplexity of which car to drive today.”
Licata and Pera remarked, “It’s a simple premise with good characters and great cars. We appreciate Adult Swim allowing us to see such a dumb idea through into an entire season.”
My Two Cars marks Pera’s second outing on Adult Swim, following his successful series Joe Pera Talks With You, which aired for three seasons. Licata makes his return to the network after contributing to Pera’s show and the animated comedy Teenage Euthanasia.
The animation for My Two Cars is handled by Green Street Pictures, the studio recognized for its Emmy- and Annie Award-nominated series Common Side Effects and the Emmy-nominated Scavengers Reign.
