Actor Beau Starr Passes Away at Age 81
Beau Starr, known for his roles in Goodfellas and several Halloween films, has died at the age of 81. His brother, Mike Starr, announced that Beau passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday in Vancouver, Canada, as reported by TMZ.
Born on September 1, 1944, in Queens, New York, Starr initially pursued a career in professional football. He was a member of the New York Jets’ practice squad from 1966 to 1968 before transitioning to the Canadian Football League, where he played for the Montreal Alouettes and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Starr began his acting career in 1979 with a debut on the sketch comedy show Bizarre. His television credits include notable appearances on series such as TJ Hooker, Cagney & Lacey, Three’s Company, Knight Rider, Remington Steele, The A-Team, MacGyver, Moonlighting, Night Court, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Wings, NYPD Blue, and Psych.
Additionally, he played significant roles in the short-lived NBC crime drama True Blue (1989-1990) as Lt. Bill Triplett and starred as Lt. Harding Welsh in the CTV crime comedy Due South from 1994 to 1999.
Starr’s filmography includes his portrayal of Sheriff Ben Meeker in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989), along with appearances in Fletch (1985), Speed (1994), Devil in a Blue Dress (1995), and Cinderella Man (2005).
