Dog Rescued from Storm Drain in Thousand Oaks
A Boston Terrier, now referred to as Spanky, was rescued from a storm drain in Thousand Oaks, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. The incident occurred last weekend after the department received reports of an animal in distress.
Firefighters from Medic Engine 34 and Medic Rescue Engine 31 quickly responded to the scene, locating the dog trapped inside a covered storm drain. Wearing their protective gear, the firefighters skillfully extracted Spanky and brought him to safety.
Following the rescue, Spanky was provided care at a veterinary facility before being transported to a shelter. Officials have not yet been able to locate the dog’s family.
