A Dodgers Fan Shares Concerns About the Team’s New Digital Ticket Policy
Frustration Mounts for Longtime Dodgers Fan Amid Ticket Policy Change
After the Los Angeles Dodgers announced the discontinuation of printed game tickets for the season, a dedicated fan has expressed his discontent with the new policy. Errol Segal, an avid Dodgers supporter for 50 years, received a notification prior to the season indicating that printed tickets would no longer be available.
At 81 years old, Segal operates a recycling center in South Los Angeles and mentioned that the shift to fully digital tickets may mean he spends more time at work. "I enjoy working," he noted. "I don’t feel my age."
Recently, Segal visited Dodger Stadium and was able to purchase paper tickets for that day, but he clarified that he would not have the option to obtain them for the entire season. "If I had the tickets one year, five years, or 10 years, that’s another story," Segal remarked. "50 years I’ve had these tickets. They threw me under the bus."
In response to his concerns, the Dodgers offered to buy back Segal’s tickets, an offer he declined. "I said, ‘That’s not fair, you’re just going to throw me out like that?’" he stated.
Segal hopes the Dodgers will reconsider their policy and allow him the opportunity to purchase printed tickets in the future. However, the team did not comment on whether they would make an exception for him.
