Debbie Gibson Shares Her Beauty Routine and Talks About Embracing Her Style Forever
From teenage sensation to enduring entertainer, pop icon Debbie Gibson is sharing her story like never before.
In her debut memoir, Eternally Electric, released on September 9, Gibson reveals personal insights and reflections on her life in the public eye. The book navigates the triumphs and tribulations of her long-standing career, providing readers with a glimpse into her journey filled with authenticity and resilience.
Best known for her record-setting hit Foolish Beat, which made her the youngest woman to write, produce, and perform a number-one single, Gibson has sold over 16 million albums globally. Her lasting impact spans music, theater, and television, making her a beacon of reinvention and self-expression.
In a recent conversation from her Las Vegas home, Gibson discussed the writing process behind her memoir and shared insights into her favorite beauty products.
“It’s so incredible. I come from a time and a place where, I talk about it in the book, where there were enough people who were cynical about me. The media has not always been warm and welcoming. I’ve been through all the plot twists and turns. I appreciate a moment like this maybe more than anybody. Yes, I’m savoring it. I’m savoring the warmth and the respect,” she said.
“Honestly, the surprising and challenging part was deciding what I was going to leave out. One of the things I do write about is how I previously wore being busy as a badge of honor. For every year of my life, something significant has happened. That was tricky, but I really learned a lot. Richard Buskin, my collaborator, helped me navigate through it,” Gibson added. “I’m very proud of the way the book weaves in and out of things very organically. People say it really moves and keeps them engaged.”
On self-care and balance, Gibson reflected, “I do pay more attention to that now. We all need to do that. We all need the balance.”
Among her favorite beauty products, she mentioned brands like Honest and Tatcha, noting her preference for organic and less fragrant items, particularly due to her health journey. “I do look for things that are organic and not too heavy on the fragrance side,” Gibson explained. “I’m someone who always wants to refresh my makeup and update my vibe.”

Gibson also expressed her excitement for a future where self-expression continues to thrive, combining elements of high and low fashion. “I love showing legs, and I mix clothing from boutiques and couture,” she remarked. Her approach to both style and beauty reflects a blend of sophistication and accessibility.
Debbie Gibson’s journey in the music industry and her candid reflections in Eternally Electric highlight her evolving narrative, serving as an inspiration for fans and aspiring artists alike.
