Zachary Hart Joins Netflix’s ‘Assassin’s Creed’ as Series Regular
Zachary Hart, known for his role in Slow Horses, has been confirmed as a series regular in Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Assassin’s Creed. He joins previously announced leads Toby Wallace and Lola Petticrew in the project, which is based on Ubisoft’s popular video game franchise.
Assassin’s Creed unfolds as a high-octane thriller that explores the secretive war between two factions. One faction seeks to shape humanity’s future through manipulation while the other defends free will. The series promises to take audiences through critical historical events as characters combat for the fate of mankind.
Roberto Patino and David Wiener will serve as showrunners for the series, following a deal Netflix made with Ubisoft in 2020. They will also executive produce alongside Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones, and Matt O’Toole.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise is a commercial powerhouse, boasting sales of over 230 million units, making it one of the best-selling video game series in history.
Hart, a British actor and musician, recently portrayed Reg in the West End production of the Tony-winning Stereophonic. Earlier this year, he took on the role of Medvedenko in Chekhov’s The Seagull at the Barbican Theatre.
In television, Hart has appeared in various notable series, including Apple TV’s Slow Horses and Masters of the Air, as well as Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin and Bodies. His previous credits also include BBC’s Peaky Blinders and ITV’s Doc Martin. Currently, he is filming Season 2 of Netflix’s Black Doves and will soon feature in Hugo Blick’s California Avenue for the BBC, alongside Bill Nighy and Helena Bonham Carter. Additionally, he is set to appear in Channel 4’s Big Mood, opposite Nicola Coughlan.
Hart recently made his directorial debut with the short film Chimera at the BFI London Film Festival and is represented by Insight Management & Production.
