Dakota Johnson Wows in Lace Lingerie and a Sheer Robe During Surprise ‘SNL’ Appearance with Lily Allen
Dakota Johnson made a surprise appearance during Lily Allen’s performance on "Saturday Night Live" on December 13. The actress took on the role of Madeline in Allen’s song of the same name, appearing in black lace lingerie and a sheer robe.
Madeline is a fictional character who has an affair with Allen’s husband, a theme explored in Allen’s latest album, West End Girl. The episode featured Allen as the musical guest, performing her hit song "Madeline" alongside Johnson, who seamlessly integrated her portrayal into the performance.
Johnson lounged on a bed behind a curtain at the start of the song, speaking lines from the character’s text messages. She later stepped through the curtain to deliver her final lines, concluding with a kiss on Allen’s cheek.
Throughout her cameo, Johnson wore a striking sheer black lace minidress complemented by a glamorous sheer sparkly robe, her hair styled in long waves with her signature bangs, and adorned with a green necklace. In contrast, Allen opted for a black minidress accented with two rows of cutouts secured by small bows, styled in a voluminous ’60s-inspired beehive.
The song "Madeline" draws inspiration from Allen’s personal experiences, particularly the end of her relationship with ex-husband David Harbour, alongside speculation regarding an affair he allegedly had while she was in London. In an interview with The Times, Allen clarified that Madeline is a “fictional character,” representing a “construct of others.”
Allen has previously engaged with the character, even dressing up as the iconic children’s character Madeline for Halloween, further intertwining her creative narrative with personal elements from her life.
