Miyamoto’s announcement follows Sony and Nintendo’s confirmation of the casting for the film, with Bragason and Ainsworth portraying Zelda and Link, respectively, in the project directed by Wes Ball, announced in 2023.
The film is based on the video game franchise, co-created by Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, which debuted in 1986. The storyline revolves around the elf-like warrior Link and Princess Zelda as they join forces to combat Ganon, a former warlord turned malevolent demon king, in their quest to save the mystical land of Hyrule.
