Actor Charlie Cox Comments on Family Dog’s Close Bond with Wife

Actor Charlie Cox recently shared insights about his wife Samantha Thomas’s relationship with their family dog, describing it as “effed-up.” In an exclusive interview, Cox humorously noted, “They’re way too close,” reflecting on the strong bond that has formed between his spouse and their pet.

Reportedly, Cox, who has been busy with his acting career, expressed a sense of displacement within his own family dynamic. “Because I’ve been working a lot and I’ve been away, our dog has definitely replaced me in the family,” he remarked, blending humor with genuine sentiment.

Cox and Thomas, who married in September 2018, share two children: a son and a daughter. Their bond originated while working together on the first season of Netflix’s Daredevil, where Cox portrayed Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Thomas previously served as a producer.

The couple’s family expanded following Cox’s latest project, Merv, a romantic comedy about a separated couple striving to reconnect while caring for their dog. “And a goldfish,” Cox added with a smile, emphasizing the new additions to their family.

Deschanel, who appears alongside Cox in Merv, has also welcomed two cats into her own household, playfully noting their preference for tuna.

Cox, who recently obtained dual citizenship as a U.S. citizen while retaining his British nationality, continues to thrive in his career and family life.
