KIM MATHERS, former wife of rapper Eminem, entered a plea on Monday in a Macomb County, Michigan, criminal case stemming from a car accident.
Mathers pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges related to an incident that occurred on February 16. Prosecutors allege that while driving a white Range Rover, she collided with a parked silver Dodge Ram, causing the truck to be pushed over 50 feet. Authorities reported that Mathers failed to notify them of the crash afterward.
During her arraignment on Monday, Mathers faced charges of Operating – Impaired and Failure to Stop After Collision. By pleading no contest, she accepts the conviction without admitting guilt.
Mathers is scheduled for sentencing on June 17, where she could face up to 93 days in jail for the impaired operating charge and up to 90 days for the failure to stop charge.
“Driving under the influence is not a lapse in judgment — it is a deliberate decision that puts every person on the road at risk,” stated Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido. “Choosing to drive impaired is choosing to endanger others, and we will continue to hold those who make that choice fully accountable.”
Mathers was married to Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, from 1999 to 2001, with a brief reconciliation in 2006. The couple shares a daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, who is now 30 years old. Eminem also adopted Alaina Marie Scott, the niece of Kim Mathers, who was raised alongside Hailie Jade.
