Prime Video Adapts Elsie Silver’s ‘Rose Hill’ Romance Series with Heidi Cole McAdams as Showrunner
Amazon is expanding its repertoire in the realm of romance with the adaptation of Elsie Silver’s widely acclaimed Rose Hill series. The announcement was made during the company’s upfront presentation on Monday, designating Heidi Cole McAdams as the showrunner for the project.
Marc Webb has been tapped to direct both the pilot and the second episode, with production handled by Temple Hill.
“Elsie Silver’s Rose Hill novels have resonated with millions of readers by blending sweeping romance with grounded, emotionally complex relationships,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios. “It’s a world where love, loyalty, and identity collide in ways that feel both intimate and expansive. With Heidi Cole McAdams, Marc Webb, and our partners at Temple Hill, we’re excited to translate that richness to the screen for Prime Video audiences globally.”
The Rose Hill series comprises four contemporary romance novels featuring interconnected tales. The titles include Wild Love, Wild Eyes, Wild Side, and Wild Card.
According to Amazon’s logline, the inaugural season will primarily follow the narrative of Wild Love. This story revolves around best friends and neighbors: West Belmont, a rancher with commitment issues, and Ford Grant, a brooding record label owner known as Forbes’ “World’s Hottest Billionaire,” who harbors feelings for West’s sister, Rosie. When country-pop star Skylar Stone arrives in their mountain town, the romantic tension escalates.
In addition to McAdams, Webb, and Silver serving as executive producers, Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and James Seidman from Temple Hill will also take on this role. Annika Patton will contribute as a Co-Executive Producer.
“Working with this team on the Rose Hill adaptation has been such a treat,” expressed Silver. “To see everyone’s hard work and creativity come to life on screen will be a dream come true!” Temple Hill’s Godfrey and Bowen echoed her sentiment, stating, “Rose Hill is exactly the kind of sweeping, emotional romance we love and need—grounded in character, driven by compelling relationships, and set in a world that feels both aspirational and authentic. With Heidi and Marc, we have an incredible team bringing Elsie Silver’s fantastic books to life in a cinematic, exciting way. You’ll want to live in Rose Hill! We’re excited at Temple Hill to continue our collaboration with Prime Video, alongside Off Campus and Boys of Tommen.
