Comedy Show ‘Netflix is a Joke’ Raises $750K for Alzheimer’s Research
Hilarity for Charity’s Fundraising Event Shines at Greek Theatre
Hilarity for Charity (HFC), a national nonprofit organization co-founded by Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, hosted its signature event, Seth Goes Greek, at the renowned Greek Theatre during last week’s “Netflix Is A Joke” Festival. The gathering attracted a full house, blending humor and purpose seamlessly.
Rogen served as host for an evening that featured an impressive lineup of performers, including Josh Gad, Eric André, Nikki Glaser, Nick Kroll, Justin Willman, Sarah Silverman, Jon Stewart, Michael Bublé, and Busta Rhymes. The event showcased a mix of sharp stand-up routines and memorable musical performances, notably Busta Rhymes, whose set energized the crowd.
The fundraiser generated more than $750,000, bolstered by a significant matching donation from Home Instead during the live appeal. A highlight of the evening included Michael Bublé donning a QR code costume as he joined Rogen on stage to encourage donations. Funds raised will support Hilarity for Charity’s mission to assist families affected by Alzheimer’s disease, advance brain health research and education, and engage future advocates.
“Hilarity for Charity has always been about reimagining how we show up for Alzheimer’s and every comedian, every artist, every person in that audience showed up for something bigger than themselves,” expressed Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen. “This community continues to show that you can care deeply and still find joy, and that’s powerful.”
Established in 2012, HFC has emerged as a significant force in the Alzheimer’s community, providing free caregiver respite grants, brain health education, and public awareness initiatives designed to inspire the next generation to take action. To date, the organization has raised over $28 million and facilitated more than half a million hours of in-home care for families dealing with Alzheimer’s.
