Spotify and Billboard Japan have announced “Women In Music — EQUAL STAGE,” a concert aimed at celebrating emerging women artists across various genres. Scheduled for June 9 at SGC Hall Ariake in Tokyo, the event is part of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK. The lineup features dance-pop group ATARASHII GAKKO!, rappers Awich and LANA, as well as the rock duo Hitsujibungaku, marking a significant milestone for the initiative.

The concert combines two prominent initiatives: Billboard Japan’s Women In Music, introduced in 2022 to highlight influential women in the industry, and Spotify EQUAL, a global program launched in 2021 aimed at expanding opportunities for female artists and creators. This partnership underscores their mutual commitment to promoting gender equity within the music world, bringing together notable talent for this exclusive event.
Chie Honma, a TV Asahi announcer, will act as the event’s MC.
