Matt Reeves Shares Sneak Peeks of ‘The Batman Part II’ and Hints at a Winter Scene with Batmobile Snow Tires
After a four-year hiatus, directors Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson are set to return to Gotham—this time at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Liverpool, as they work on The Batman: Part II.
Reeves, who resumes his role behind the camera, recently sparked excitement among fans by sharing test shots of the Batmobile on social media. This week, he offered glimpses of a snowy winter landscape, heightening anticipation for the much-anticipated sequel.
“#SnowTires,” Reeves posted on X, complemented by a bat emoji and images of the Batmobile navigating through the snow.
Additionally, Reeves shared another striking image of an explosion captured through the Batmobile’s windshield, captioned, “Just over here having a little fun…”
Engaging directly with followers, Reeves also reposted artwork from Tom King’s 2018 Batman comics arc, Beast of Burden, which features Batman’s sidekick Dick Grayson in a poignant storyline.
“It’s time,” one fan noted, sharing an image of Batman in the snow from issue No. 57, To Hunt the Beast, which Reeves reposted with a heart emoji, despite previous comments from James Gunn that had downplayed the likelihood of Robin’s appearance in the sequel.
Another user expressed their dream of seeing Batman in a snowy setting, to which Reeves responded, “Indeed, it is.”
In July, Gunn announced that the script for The Batman: Part II was complete after several delays. By August, a letter sent to Warner Bros. Discovery’s shareholders revealed that filming for the sequel was scheduled to commence in the spring, ahead of its planned theatrical release on October 1, 2027.
