Jeff Daniels, Joel Edgerton, Caleb McLaughlin, and Nnamdi Asomugha Join Rachel McAdams in Netflix’s Untitled AI Thriller
Hollywood A-listers Jeff Daniels, Joel Edgerton, Caleb McLaughlin, and Nnamdi Asomugha are set to star alongside Rachel McAdams in an untitled AI thriller for Netflix, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt at the helm as director. Netflix secured the project last October and plans to begin production this summer, with Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman’s T-Street Productions producing, alongside Gordon-Levitt and Kieran Fitzgerald.
Netflix has not commented on the project.
Details of the storyline remain confidential, but Gordon-Levitt, known for his passionate views on artificial intelligence, co-wrote the script with Kieran Fitzgerald, based on a story by Natasha Lyonne.
This project marks Daniels’ return to Netflix after his role in the limited series A Man in Full in 2025. Edgerton also has a strong association with the platform, receiving acclaim for his film Train Dreams, which Netflix acquired at Sundance and later earned a Best Picture nomination at this year’s Oscars.
Caleb McLaughlin is coming off the success of the final season of Stranger Things, which concluded over the holidays. He recently starred in the animated feature Goat.
Nnamdi Asomugha’s recent work includes notable performances in The Knife and The Good Nurse.
In terms of representation, Daniels is represented by LBI Entertainment and Martino Management, Edgerton by WME, Anonymous Content, and Bob Wallerstein Company, McLaughlin by WME and 1v1 Entertainment, and Asomugha by CAA.
