High School Baseball and Softball Results: City and Southern Sections
In a series of thrilling contests across high school baseball and softball, various teams achieved impressive victories in both the City and Southern sections.
Baseball Highlights
In the City Section, Amit triumphed over East Valley with a final score of 13-5. Cals Early College narrowly defeated Sun Valley Magnet, ending the game at 8-7. Other notable results included Canoga Park’s 5-4 victory against Reseda and Chavez’s close 9-8 win over Vaughn. Hollywood managed a tight 6-5 finish against RFK Community, while Jefferson dominated Manual Arts, winning 11-1.
In the Southern Section, Adelanto defeated Barstow 5-2, and Arroyo edged Mountain View with a score of 3-2. Beverly Hills showcased a strong performance, defeating Hawthorne 16-7, while Crean Lutheran bested Garden Grove Pacifica 9-6. Other significant scores included Jurupa Valley’s commanding 14-0 victory over Rubidoux and Harvard-Westlake’s impressive 16-1 win against Crespi.
Softball Highlights
In the City Section, Animo Bunche secured a 14-9 victory over Downtown Magnets. Animo Venice dominated AHSA, shutting them out 18-0. Central City Value achieved a remarkable 22-5 win against Orthopaedic, and Discovery’s game against Valley Oaks CES culminated in an outstanding 37-35 finish. LA Jordan triumphed over Hawkins with a score of 15-4.
In the Southern Section, ACE edged Hesperia Christian with a close 5-4 win. Maranatha showcased a strong performance against Heritage Christian, winning 17-6. Meanwhile, Lawndale delivered a remarkable 39-21 victory against Animo City of Champions, and Temple City defeated San Marino in a tightly contested match, ending 17-13.
