High School Boys Volleyball Playoffs: Tuesday’s Quarterfinal Results
The quarterfinals of the high school boys volleyball playoffs showcased competitive matches on Tuesday, as teams vied for advancement in their respective divisions.
In Division 1, Mira Costa triumphed over Tesoro, winning 25-18, 25-19, and 25-23. Huntington Beach secured a 3-0 victory against Corona del Mar, while Loyola defeated Newport Harbor with scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-22. Redondo Union edged out Santa Margarita in a closely contested match, winning 3-2.
In Division 2, Orange Lutheran bested Fountain Valley with a score of 25-20, 25-14, and 25-16. St. Margaret’s followed suit by defeating San Clemente 3-0. Camarillo took down Yorba Linda with a score of 3-1, and Edison emerged victorious against Arcadia, also winning 3-1.
Looking ahead, Wednesday’s schedule includes several key matches in the City Section quarterfinals, all set to begin at 7 p.m. Notable matchups in the Open Division feature #8 Carson facing #1 Granada Hills and #5 LA Marshall against #4 Venice. Additionally, #6 Wilmington Banning will meet #3 Chatsworth, and #7 Eagle Rock will challenge #2 Palisades.
For the Southern Section, also commencing at 6 p.m., the quarterfinal matches in Division 3 include Valencia at Palos Verdes and St. John Bosco at Eastvale Roosevelt. Other matchups feature Servite visiting Santa Ana Foothill, and Windward competing against Crescenta Valley.
In Division 4, Chino Hills will take on Village Christian, Royal will face Temple City, Northwood will meet Sunny Hills, and San Marino will challenge Crossroads.
Division 5 sees Dos Pueblos traveling to El Dorado, Bishop Diego facing Brea Olinda, Bellflower at Flintridge Prep, and Western Christian visiting St. Anthony.
Quarterfinals in Division 6 will include Beverly Hills at Temecula Valley, Culver City at Firebaugh, Capistrano Valley Christian at Garden Grove, and Pasadena Poly at Santa Ana Calvary Chapel.
Further matchups in Division 7 consist of La Sierra Academy against Rialto, Foothill Tech visiting Cerritos Valley Christian, Oakwood at Knight, and Tustin traveling to Indio.
Finally, Division 8 features Santa Rosa Academy at Temescal Canyon, Eastside versus CAMS at Lindsey Middle School, Burbank Providence at West Valley, and Glendale Adventist against Palmdale Aerospace.
In Division 9, Tarbut V’Torah will face Webb, Le Lycée will compete against YULA, Vasquez will meet Cantwell-Sacred Heart, and Avalon will take on Downey Calvary Chapel on Thursday.
The tournament continues with semifinals scheduled for all divisions on May 9, followed by finals on May 15-16.
