Gen V Cast Shares Heartfelt Thoughts on The Boys Spinoff Cancellation: Thankful for the Journey
Following the recent cancellation of Gen V, actress Jaz Sinclair expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the fans and her time on the show. Sinclair, who portrayed the character Marie Moreau in the Prime Video spinoff of The Boys, indicated that she plans to share more about the streamer’s decision in the future.
“There’s so much I wanna (and will) say, but for today I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Sinclair wrote on her Instagram Story. “I’m so happy you’re here and I’m so grateful for this incredible experience.”
In Gen V, Sinclair’s character, Marie Moreau, is depicted as one of the most powerful Supes, possessing the ability to control blood and manipulate living tissue. This power plays a crucial role in her quest to unveil the truths surrounding Godolkin University. The second season concluded with Marie joining the Starlighter resistance against Homelander, portrayed by Antony Starr.
London Thor, who played the gender-shifting character Jordan, also took to Instagram to reflect on the impact of the show. “This show changed my life. So long Jordan. Thank you for everything,” Thor wrote.
Maddie Phillips, who portrayed mind controller Cate Dunlap, shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, writing, “Live laugh love, later !!! <3”
The cancellation, which comes six months after the Season 2 finale, was anticipated. Sinclair, Thor, and other performers from Gen V recently appeared in the fifth and final season of The Boys.
“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon,” said Vought Cinematic Universe executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg. “You’ll see them again.”
In addition to Vought Rising, set to debut on Prime Video in 2027, The Boys: Mexico is also actively in development.
