More People Than You Think Could Headline the ‘Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat’ Show, Say EPs from Contenders TV
Producers of Prime Video’s Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat believe there are many more likable and genuine individuals like the show’s main character, Anthony Norman, waiting to be discovered. While audiences may view Norman as a rare find, the executives are optimistic about the potential for more candidates who embody these qualities.
Executive producer J.J. Schulman emphasized the show’s intent to cast individuals who reflect the best versions of themselves in unusual circumstances. “We want someone who seems secure in who they are, has a big heart, and is comfortable in any situation,” he explained. Schulman highlighted the importance of finding individuals who possess an engaging personality: “We all sit around and think, ‘Who do we want to spend the next two weeks secretly watching?’ Both Anthony and [Season One star] Ronald [Gaddon] exceeded our expectations in incredible ways.”

Nicholas Hatton, another executive producer, expressed a desire for cast members to leave the experience feeling positive. “Even when it’s all over, if they don’t want to be the hero of the show, then there is no show for us to make,” he said. “We really want them to feel like this was an insane experience, but one they’re glad to have been a part of.”
Hatton also noted that viewers pick up on this sense of enjoyment. “I think [viewers] sense that our hero is getting something out of this experience,” he added. “At the end, there’s a relief that they had a good time.”
Despite the wealth of potential candidates for a new season, the producers are taking a measured approach before committing to a third installment. Schulman revealed, “It took three years to make this season, so I think we’re just taking a breath right now and enjoying the fact that this is out in the world… Maybe at some point, but not yet.”
