Justin Bieber to Perform on Day Two of Coachella Music Festival in Indio
Indio, CA – Thousands of music enthusiasts are set to gather at the Empire Polo Club for the second day of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, headlined by pop sensation Justin Bieber. Festivities come after high winds forced the cancellation of one artist’s set on Friday night.
Bieber is scheduled to take the Coachella Stage at 11:25 p.m., alongside a lineup that includes The Strokes, Giveon, Addison Rae, Morat, PinkPantheress, and Jack White.
The festival kicked off with Sabrina Carpenter taking the main stage on Friday. She launched a unique experience called "Sabrina’s Pit Stop," a pop-up installation in collaboration with Airbnb, which features photo-themed displays, custom slushie stations, and merchandise. "This is a full circle moment for me. I wouldn’t be here without my fans, so I wanted to create something special just for them. It’s not your typical pit stop — I wanted it to feel like a surrealist fantasy land of mine,” Carpenter stated.
Friday’s performances spanned across eight stages, featuring artists such as Teddy Swims, The xx, Disclosure, Lykke Li, Joyce Manor, Moby, Swae Lee, and Sexyy Red. Notably, Susan Sarandon delivered a monologue during Carpenter’s set, while Will Ferrell entertained attendees with a comedic skit involving staged technical difficulties.
Teddy Swims made headlines for his surprise collaborations, inviting Joe Jonas on stage for "When You Look Me in The Eyes," followed by Vanessa Carlton for "A Thousand Miles," and David Lee Roth for a rendition of Van Halen’s "Jump." Additionally, Snoop Dogg surprised the audience during Hugel’s DJ set.
However, adverse weather conditions affected the schedule on Friday. The Italian-American DJ Anyma canceled his set due to strong winds impacting stage operations. A message shown on stage indicated, "Coachella and Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as a priority." Although no other performances were canceled, gusty winds caused significant issues for campers, with reports of damaged tents and belongings being swept away.
The National Weather Service forecasts more windy conditions for Saturday night, with winds expected to reach 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
The Indio Police Department has encouraged festivalgoers and nearby residents to report non-emergency concerns, such as noise disturbances or traffic issues, by calling 760-391-4051.
The festival’s first weekend will conclude on Sunday with Karol G as the headliner, alongside acts like Young Thug, Wet Leg, Laufey, Roz, Foster The People, Iggy Pop, and Fatboy Slim. The second weekend of the festival is scheduled for April 17-19, with gates opening at 1 p.m.
