Netflix’s Olympics Film Stalled as Millie Bobby Brown Withdraws from the Project
Netflix Pulls the Plug on Sports Drama ‘Perfect’ Following Millie Bobby Brown’s Departure
Netflix’s upcoming sports drama, Perfect, will not proceed as planned after the project’s star, Millie Bobby Brown, exited due to creative differences with the producers.
Initially, Brown was set to portray Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug, with production scheduled to commence this summer. However, following her departure, sources indicate that the film’s future is now uncertain.
Representatives for both Netflix and Brown have declined to comment on her exit from the project.
The iconic image of Strug landing her vault—only to injure her ankle and be carried off the mat by coach Bela Karolyi—remains one of the most striking moments in Olympic history.
Despite the setback with Perfect, Netflix continues to collaborate with Brown. The actress is anticipated to star in Enola Holmes 3, expected to debut later this year. Additionally, several other projects are in development featuring Brown, including Just Picture It and Nineteen Steps, the latter being an adaptation of her debut novel.
This news comes on the heels of Netflix and Brown’s success with the record-breaking final season of Stranger Things, which concluded in December.
