Catch Bad Bunny’s Japan Concert on Spotify Starting April 8
In March, Bad Bunny made his debut in Asia with a concert in Tokyo that attracted 2,300 fans, part of Spotify’s Billions Club Live series.
Beginning April 8, a filmed version of this performance will be available on Spotify for his vast fanbase unable to attend the event in person.
The concert, titled “Billions Club Live With Bad Bunny: A Concert Film,” was a highlight in the Grammy-winning artist’s “Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour,” which commenced with a concert in the Dominican Republic last November and has since sold out stadiums across Latin America and Australia. Notably, the tour does not include any dates in the United States.
Footage from the Tokyo concert gained significant attention on social media, showcasing Bad Bunny’s unique salsa rendition of his 2018 collaboration with Drake, alongside his performance of the 2021 single “Yonaguni,” which features lyrics in Japanese.
The concert film arrives two months after Bad Bunny’s historic album of the year win at the Grammy Awards, where he became the first fully Spanish-language act to headline the Super Bowl halftime show. This performance received acclaim for its star power and political messaging.
With no signs of slowing down, Bad Bunny will launch the European leg of his world tour in May, starting with a performance in Portugal, followed by stops in Spain, England, Sweden, France, Poland, and Italy.
Beyond his musical achievements, Bad Bunny has also made headlines in film. In February, it was revealed that he will star alongside Academy Award-winning actor Javier Bardem and nominees Edward Norton and Viggo Mortensen in Puerto Rican rapper Residente’s directorial debut, “Porto Rico.” The film will delve into Puerto Rico’s complex colonial history through a Western/historical drama lens, though a release date has yet to be announced.
