LAFC Shines in Big Win Against Orlando Thanks to Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-min
LAFC Dominates Orlando City with a 6-0 Victory
On Saturday night, LAFC showcased an impressive performance, defeating Orlando City 6-0. Denis Bouanga made headlines by scoring three goals, marking his fifth career hat trick in Major League Soccer (MLS). Son Heung-min played a pivotal role in the victory, providing four assists.
Additionally, Sergi Palencia and Tyler Boyd each contributed a goal to LAFC’s scoreline, bringing the team to a record of 6-0-1 this season. Hugo Lloris played a crucial defensive role, recording six saves throughout the match.
Orlando City struggled once again, having previously suffered a 5-0 defeat to Nashville and facing another heavy loss against New York City FC on March 7. This latest defeat set a franchise record for the largest margin of loss in a regular-season match, as Orlando City now sits at 1-5-0.
The match began with a goal in the seventh minute, as Son’s cross was inadvertently redirected into the net by Orlando defender David Brekalo, giving LAFC an early lead. Bouanga then scored three consecutive goals in the 20th, 23rd, and 28th minutes, all assisted by Son.
Before halftime, Palencia netted his first goal of the season in the 39th minute, extending the lead to 5-0. Tyler Boyd capped the scoring with his first MLS goal since July 13, 2024, during the 70th minute. Maxime Crépeau made two saves for Orlando City in a challenging match.
This decisive victory further solidifies LAFC’s strong position in the league as the season progresses.
