Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman’s Bold Take on ‘I Want Your Sex’ Faces Off Against ‘Spider-Man’
EXCLUSIVE: Magnolia Pictures has announced a theatrical release for I Want Your Sex on July 31. Directed by Gregg Araki, the film stars Olivia Wilde as an artist and provocateur who guides a young muse, played by Cooper Hoffman, into the realm of sexual kink. Magnolia secured the film following its premiere at Sundance for a seven-figure deal.
This release comes as the weekend is relatively free, aside from another highly anticipated film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, featuring Tom Holland and Zendaya in their iconic roles.

Magnolia appears to be seeking a niche for counterprogramming, potentially positioning each film to attract its own audience as date movies. I Want Your Sex may resonate more with viewers on a second date. The film also features Mason Gooding, Chase Sui Wonders, Johnny Knoxville, Margaret Cho, Roxane Mesquida, Daveed Diggs, and Charli XCX, who plays the uptight girlfriend of a twentysomething whose fantasies are realized by his boss.
