New Look at Jason Momoa’s Lobo in the ‘Supergirl’ Trailer as Kara Zor-El Takes on Krem of the Yellow Hills
Warner Bros. and DC have released an official trailer for Supergirl, highlighting the titular heroine’s struggles against Krem of the Yellow Hills, portrayed by Matthias Schoenaerts.
The trailer opens with a poignant exchange between Superman, played by David Corenswet, and Supergirl, who is portrayed by Milly Alcock. Superman expresses concern for her well-being during a challenging and isolating phase of her life. “Hey, I was just touching base to see when you think you might be coming back,” he says. “You know, I’m just worried that you’re not going to find your stride here if you keep going off world all the time, Kara. I’m worried you’re not going to find your people.”
Supergirl candidly responds, “Yeah, well, that’s the thing, Clark. I have no people,” emphasizing that “home is wherever” her beloved Krypto the Superdog is.
However, Krypto’s safety is soon jeopardized as he becomes poisoned by Krem’s henchmen, leaving Supergirl with only three days to save him.
The trailer also introduces Jason Momoa’s antihero Lobo, while Supergirl attempts to counsel Ruthye Marye Knoll, played by Eve Ridley, whose father fell victim to Krem. “Revenge won’t take your pain away,” she tells the young woman, indicating a commitment to fighting evil alongside her allies.
Set to follow the success of James Gunn’s Superman, which earned over $618 million globally last summer, Supergirl is scheduled to premiere in theaters and IMAX across North America on June 26. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film features a screenplay by Ana Nogueira, alongside a supporting cast that includes David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham. The project is produced by DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn, with executive producers Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther.
