Celine Dion has officially announced her highly anticipated return to the stage with a concert residency at La Défense Arena in Paris. The news was revealed on Monday, March 30, coinciding with her 58th birthday, in a video broadcast beneath the Eiffel Tower.
In the video, Dion expressed, “I’ve recorded a lot of birthday messages, but this is the first time I’ve ever recorded one for my own birthday. I want to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I’m singing again, even doing a little dancing.”
Dion also took a moment to thank her fans for their unwavering support during her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, a condition that has previously hindered her ability to perform. “Even in my most difficult times, you were there for me,” she stated. “You’ve helped me in ways I can’t even describe. I’ve felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love.”
“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life,” she added. “I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September! I’m feeling good. I’m strong. I’m feeling excited — obviously a little nervous — but most of all, I’m grateful to all of you.”
Speculation about Dion’s return circulated a week prior to her announcement, sparked by posters reflecting her iconic songs appearing throughout Paris. Reports indicated she would be performing a series of shows at La Défense, which is confirmed to begin on September 12 and conclude on October 14.
Dion last performed for the public in 2024, delivering a heartfelt rendition of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne A L’Amour” from the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of that year’s Olympics. Her public performances had been limited due to her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022, which led to the cancellation of her most recent tour.
