Aryna Sabalenka Playfully Teases Her Fiancé About His 12-Carat Engagement Ring: “I Actually Wanted 14!”
Tennis professional Aryna Sabalenka humorously remarked that her engagement ring from entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis could have been even larger. During an interview with the Broadcast Boys on March 25, the 27-year-old athlete discussed the details of her impressive ring.
When a reporter inquired about the carat weight of the ring, Sabalenka estimated it to be “12.” “Correct,” the reporter responded, before asking if that was the size she had requested.
With a laugh, Sabalenka replied, “No. I requested 14, but I got 12,” eliciting laughter from fans in the comments section. “This is amazing,” one user wrote, while another exclaimed, “Requested 14 QUEEEEN.” A third referred to her playful remark, stating, “😂😂😂 I love her so much ❤️.”
Sabalenka first shared her engagement news on March 4 via Instagram, posting a photo of Frangulis proposing amidst a bouquet of flowers. She captioned the image, “You & me, forever ♾️ 3.3.26 💍🤍.” In another post, she included a close-up photo of him while giving Frangulis a kiss, excitedly announcing, “I can finally call him something else… FIANCÉ 💍.”
According to Diamond World, the ring is valued at approximately $1 million.
Earlier this month, at a press conference during the Indian Wells Open in Palm Springs, California, Sabalenka praised her ring. When asked why she chose to wear it during her match, she playfully responded, “I hope that my opponent will get distracted by this diamond and it’s going to benefit me.” She expressed confidence in the ring’s sturdiness, stating, “I was pretty confident wearing this ring.”
