Mormon Wives’ Jessi Draper Opens Up About Self-Confidence and Her Cosmetic Journey
Jessi Draper Discusses Insecurities and Cosmetic Surgery Journey
In a recent interview with Allure, Jessi Draper candidly addressed her struggles with self-confidence and her experience with cosmetic surgery. The 33-year-old star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives revealed that her insecurities have deeply impacted her perception of beauty. “I have such self-confidence issues and looking back, I can totally see how I was blinded by those,” Draper shared, adding, “I was beautiful and I wasn’t able to say that a few months ago, and I can say that now.”
Earlier this month, Draper expressed her dissatisfaction with the results of her cosmetic procedures in an emotional social media video. She described undergoing a lower blepharoplasty, which includes surgery on the lower eyelids, followed by an unexpected upper blepharoplasty and fat grafting suggested by her doctor. Reflecting on the experience, she admitted, “Did not want that [fat] grafting, to be honest. I just listened to a suggestion [without] really understanding what it was, what it was going to do, what the results were gonna be, what the recovery was gonna be.”
Draper revealed that she did not request fat to be added to her lips, leading to an unsatisfactory appearance. “I’m getting a lot of comments about my lip filler, and I agree, it looks awful,” she acknowledged. “My face looks terrible.”
To combat the effects of the fat grafting, Draper opted for Kybella injections, which temporarily caused swelling during her recovery. “I’m really insecure,” she remarked, visibly emotional. “I understand that I look really different and I hate it. I look back at how I used to look [and] I watched season 4 and I’m like, ‘Damn. I looked really good.’” She expressed a desire to see her inner beauty and advised others to research thoroughly before undergoing similar procedures. “This last surgery ruined my life. I look f***ing hideous in season 5. It’s ruined my career,” she said, highlighting the significant impact these changes have had on her life and work.
