Alan Ritchson Cleared of Criminal Charges Following Weekend Altercation
Alan Ritchson, known for his role in Reacher, will not face criminal charges in connection with a violent confrontation that occurred over the weekend, according to the Brentwood Police Department in Tennessee.
In a statement released today, the department, in conjunction with the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office, confirmed that their investigation into the March 22 incident involving Ritchson and Ronnie Taylor has concluded. Authorities stated, “After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense. Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges. With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.”
The incident gained attention when TMZ published a video showing Ritchson in a physical altercation with Taylor. The footage depicted Taylor on the ground as Ritchson stood over him, striking him multiple times. Taylor subsequently showed visible bruises, alleging he had repeatedly asked Ritchson to cease revving his motorcycle on the street.
Additional footage emerged within the past 24 hours, including clips from Ritchson’s body camera, indicating that Taylor confronted Ritchson aggressively before the altercation escalated.
Efforts to obtain comments from Ritchson’s representatives are ongoing.
