High School Sports Results Recap for Saturday
In Saturday’s high school sports action, notable performances were witnessed in both baseball and softball across various sections.
Baseball Results:
In the City Section, L.A. University triumphed over Gardena with a score of 6-1, while Palisades secured a 4-1 victory against Verdugo Hills. Additionally, Sun Valley Magnet edged out VAAS in a closely contested game, finishing 6-5.
The Southern Section showcased a series of dominant performances. Aliso Niguel defeated West Ranch 7-2, and Bonita shut out La Canada 6-0. Canyon Springs also ignited their offense, overcoming Bloomington 12-7. Other notable scores included Carpinteria’s 9-0 win against Del Sol and Century blanking Santa Ana Valley 13-0. Charter Oak won decisively against South Pasadena, finishing at 11-1.
In an intersectional showdown, Arvin claimed a 6-1 victory over Chavez, and California defeated Carson 9-3. Colorado Cherry Creek showcased a commanding win against Fullerton, scoring 13-2.
Softball Results:
In the Southern Section, Beckman outscored Vasquez with a final tally of 12-7. Brea Olinda had a strong showing as well, winning against Capistrano Valley 9-2 and later over Woodbridge with an 8-3 finish. Chaparral dominated Placentia Valencia, shutting them out 17-0, while Citrus Hill had a solid win against United Christian Academy, finishing 12-5.
Jurupa Hills also had a notable doubleheader, defeating Covina 8-4 and following up with an 11-9 win over Katella. Mater Dei recorded an impressive 17-0 shutout against Irvine in what proved to be a standout performance.
In the intersectional games, Carlsbad outscored Cajon 11-7, while La Jolla Bishop’s defeated Mayfield 9-2. San Fernando secured a dominant 15-0 win over San Diego.
