Simi Valley Man Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Murder Girlfriend
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. – A domestic dispute in Simi Valley culminated in the early morning arrest of 32-year-old Gerald Doe III, who is accused of attempting to murder his girlfriend during a heated argument.
The incident occurred on March 17, shortly after 1 a.m. at a residence on Yosemite Avenue. According to police reports, Doe III and the 31-year-old woman were in a verbal altercation when he allegedly threatened to "slit the victim’s throat," brandishing a knife in the process.
As he attempted to stab her in the neck, the victim managed to block the blow but sustained a significant cut to her hand, resulting in considerable bleeding. Despite the immediate danger, she remained at the home for several hours due to fear for her safety.
Later that morning, the woman contacted a family member for assistance. Authorities were alerted as she was en route to the hospital, leading to Doe’s arrest at the scene.
Doe faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, domestic violence, and criminal threats, along with a parole violation. He is currently in custody and is expected to appear in court soon, pending an arraignment as the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office assesses the evidence.
The woman’s current condition has not been disclosed, and authorities have not released details regarding the motivations behind the initial dispute.
