St. John Bosco Dominates in Trinity League Baseball Opener
The top-ranked St. John Bosco Braves commenced their Trinity League baseball campaign on a high note Tuesday, showcasing exceptional pitching in a decisive 6-0 victory against JSerra. Julian Garcia led the charge with a standout performance, recording seven strikeouts, one walk, and allowing just three hits over five innings. This win marks the Braves’ fourth shutout in five games this season, improving their record to 5-0. Hitting contributions came from Jhett Ohira, who secured three hits, while Jaden Jackson and Noah Everly each added two.
In other action, Bishop Alemany defeated Harvard-Westlake 6-5, handing the Warriors their first loss in the Mission League. Alex Noble emerged as a key player for Alemany with two hits, lifting their record to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in league play.
Unbeaten Sherman Oaks Notre Dame continued its strong season by overpowering Chaminade 13-2. Benett Pace stood out with two home runs and four RBIs. Jacob Madrid also contributed with two hits and two RBIs, while Beckett Berg struck out six batters, yielding only one hit in five innings.
St. Francis secured a 6-2 victory over Loyola, with Lucas Becerra delivering three hits. Donovan Udell provided solid relief, throwing two scoreless innings. Sierra Canyon defeated Crespi 3-1, powered by Armando Solorio’s complete game, which included six strikeouts and no walks.
In a close match, Florida Stoneman Douglas edged out Santa Margarita 7-6, unable to maintain a 6-1 lead. Warren Gravely III contributed with a home run. Servite managed a 6-2 win over Aliso Niguel, bolstered by scoreless relief appearances from Wyatt Karges, Eli Rubel, and Isaiah Camacho.
Additional scores included Los Alamitos defeating Edison 5-3, with Will McCullough notching three hits. Arcadia delivered a commanding 18-2 victory against Hoover, led by Matt Manzo’s four RBIs and three hits from Jordan Vogel. La Mirada triumphed over Etiwanda 4-2, thanks to Ian Nunez’s three-run home run. Huntington Beach defeated Marina 6-1, highlighted by Jared Grindlinger’s four strikeouts. Softball Results
In softball, Murrieta Mesa demonstrated their prowess with a 12-0 win over Temecula Valley, led by Macy Clark, who belted two home runs in the five-inning game.
JSerra triumphed over Aliso Niguel with an 8-2 score, where Zena Edwards hit a two-run home run, and Margenta De Arte contributed with a two-run double. Garden Grove Pacifica won a nail-biter against Eastvale Roosevelt, 6-5, thanks to a walk-off single from Jenna Valladares in the bottom of the seventh.
Harvard-Westlake fell to Louisville 11-7, with Izzy Whelan driving in three runs for the team. Downey overwhelmed Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, scoring 21 runs to 6, with Hazel Renteria leading the charge, while Delilah Navarro and Kayla Gutierrez each recorded four hits.
