How Dirt Bikes Are Affecting Santa Clarita’s Haskell Canyon Bike Park
City Takes Action Against Dirt Bike Riding at Haskell Canyon Bike Park
The City of Santa Clarita is urging dirt bikers to refrain from entering the construction zone at Haskell Canyon Bike Park, citing ongoing issues with unauthorized riding that threaten to delay the project’s completion.
On Monday, the city issued a statement through a social media post, emphasizing that riding dirt bikes or any other motorized vehicles within the designated construction area is strictly prohibited.
“[It’s] actively damaging the park, delaying its opening and impacting the quality of the facility for everyone who is excited to use it,” the post noted. The city explained that the trails and riding features are meticulously crafted, and unauthorized activities are undermining progress and pushing back the project timeline.
Furthermore, the city warned that “violations will be enforced to the fullest extent of the law” for those who continue to enter the construction zone. The post concluded with an optimistic message: “We look forward to welcoming riders once the park is complete — help us keep it in great shape for opening day.”
As of Tuesday, NBC Los Angeles has sought further information from the City of Santa Clarita regarding the dirt bike issues but has yet to receive a response.
