Chicago Man Shares His Memorable Encounter with Michael B. Jordan at In-N-Out Burger
Michael B. Jordan Celebrates Oscar Win with Late-Night In-N-Out Burger Stop
In a notable Hollywood encounter, dance teacher and model Gleb Vashkevich had a memorable experience while waiting in line at an In-N-Out Burger on Sunday night, just steps from the Dolby Theatre. This came shortly after Michael B. Jordan won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in "Sinners."
Vashkevich, a Chicago resident who frequently visits Los Angeles for dance classes, found himself caught in a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood movie. As he waited at the bustling restaurant, he was surprised by the sound of cheers and camera clicks around him.
"I turned my head to the left, and Michael B. Jordan’s literally standing right next to me," Vashkevich recounted. "Like he’s literally ordering a burger, like, right next to me. My jaw dropped… I’m like, wait, can it be real? What is going on here?"
After accepting his award for his portrayal of twin brothers in "Sinners," Jordan opted for a simple celebration at the fast-food chain, which is a popular post-Oscar haunt for many celebrities. With his Oscar statuette in hand, he engaged cheerfully with fans, signing autographs and sharing smiles, as captured in several videos that surfaced online.
"The restaurant was packed with people trying to get a shot of Jordan," Vashkevich noted. "This is just such a cool moment. I can’t imagine how it feels to get your first Oscar ever… but he’s just so chill when thousands of people are surrounding you. He’s just a great person."
Jordan’s victory at the Academy Awards marked a significant milestone in his career, as he triumphed over competitors including Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, and Wagner Moura for the Best Actor title. "Sinners" further garnered three additional Oscars for best original screenplay, best cinematography, and best original score.
In-N-Out Burger has a storied legacy in Southern California, dating back to its first stand in Baldwin Park in 1948. The chain remains a go-to stop for celebrities celebrating their successes, making this occasion a fitting addition to its history.
