Harry Styles brought laughter to Saturday Night Live with a comedic sketch themed around St. Patrick’s Day. The episode aired on March 14, where Styles took on the roles of both host and musical guest.
In a pre-recorded segment titled “She’s an Irish Dancer,” the 32-year-old pop icon portrayed a scenario where a group of male friends experiences an unexpected surprise during a night out at a club.
The clip begins with Styles serenading viewers about enjoying a night in the VIP section alongside women who claim to be dancers, singing, “She says that she’s a dancer/ That means she’s a freak.”
Following some playful banter, one of the women, played by Chloe Fineman, invites Styles for a private dance, but she quickly reveals that her dancing style is not what he anticipated. Calling her friends over, she breaks into an exuberant display of Irish dancing, adorned in traditional costumes and headpieces reminiscent of Riverdance.
As the sketch progresses, Styles finds himself needing to “match their freak.” He is soon seen donning a puffy silk white shirt and a black headband, declaring, “I’m about to go Lord of the Dance up in here.” Against a starry blue backdrop, he launches into an intricate Irish-inspired routine, eventually joined by his friends on a fog-filled dance floor.
The segment concludes with Styles offering a playful wink and wishing viewers a “Happy St. Paddy’s Day.”
Earlier in the show, Styles shared reflections on his time away from music during a humorous opening monologue and performed two tracks from his latest album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
