Tyler Bilodeau from UCLA Will Miss the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals This Saturday
CHICAGO — UCLA will face a significant challenge in its Big Ten tournament semifinal match against Purdue as the team will be without Tyler Bilodeau, their top scorer and best shooter. Bilodeau sustained a mild knee sprain during the Bruins’ game against Michigan State on Friday night and is not expected to participate in Saturday’s contest.
A team spokesperson confirmed that the injury is not anticipated to impact Bilodeau’s availability for next week’s NCAA tournament. During the match against Michigan State, Bilodeau, who averages 17.6 points per game with a shooting percentage of 51.8%, left the court late in the first half after colliding under the basket. He was on the court briefly in visible distress before being assisted off the floor.
Despite Bilodeau’s absence, UCLA managed to secure a victory over Michigan State, showcasing one of their best shooting performances of the season. The Bruins shot 56% from the field and hit 13 three-pointers, underscoring their offensive capability.
The upcoming game against Purdue will test whether UCLA can sustain this high level of shooting without one of their key players. The outcome may ultimately determine the team’s chances of advancing to the tournament final on Sunday.
