Franz Ferdinand Shares Exciting News About Their Upcoming North American Tour
Franz Ferdinand has announced a comprehensive headlining tour across the United States, following their upcoming support role for My Chemical Romance at an arena show in New York. The tour will commence on August 2nd in Buffalo and will include performances in major cities such as Boston, Atlanta, and Austin, concluding in Dallas on August 15th. In addition, the band is set to perform at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal.
Tickets for the new tour dates will be available starting Friday, March 13th, at 10:00 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster. A presale for fans will begin on Tuesday, March 10th, at the same time, followed by a Live Nation presale for All Access members on Thursday, March 12th.
Before embarking on their North American tour, Franz Ferdinand will perform in various European locations, including England, Paris, Munich, and Frankfurt in March and April.
In recent news, frontman Alex Kapranos has voiced strong criticism of the Israeli Defense Forces for using the band’s hit song “Take Me Out” in a propaganda video. Kapranos expressed his outrage on Instagram, stating, “These warmongering murderers are using our music without our consent. This makes us both nauseous and furious.”
Franz Ferdinand has a history of political engagement, evident in their band name, which references the assassinated Archduke, and their release of the anti-Trump song “Demagogue” in 2016. Their latest album, *The Human Fear*, was released last year.
