Aryna Sabalenka Makes Her Mark Again: Reaching the Indian Wells Final for the Third Time in Four Years
Sabalenka Advances to Indian Wells Final with Victory Over Noskova
INDIAN WELLS — Aryna Sabalenka, the top-ranked player from Belarus and a two-time finalist at the BNP Paribas Open, secured her place in the championship match after defeating Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals on Friday. The match took place on Stadium Court 1 and lasted 1 hour and 28 minutes.
Sabalenka showcased her impressive serving skills, converting 38 of 58 first serves and delivering 11 aces against the 14th-seeded Noskova. This win marks Sabalenka’s third appearance in the Indian Wells final in four years. She is set to compete against either Elena Rybakina or Elina Svitolina for the title on Sunday.
The Belarusian’s performance follows her recent setback, having lost to Rybakina in the Australian Open final earlier this year. With her victory on Friday, Sabalenka improved her season record to 12-1 and continued her strong showing, reaching the semifinals in six consecutive WTA Tour events. Her last defeat prior to the semifinals was against Rybakina in the Cincinnati quarterfinals last August.
Noskova kept the match competitive, saving seven of ten break points during her service games, but ultimately fell to 0-2 against Sabalenka in their head-to-head matches.
