AMC Announces Premiere Date for Anne Rice’s ‘The Vampire Lestat’
AMC has announced the premiere date for Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat>, scheduled for Sunday, June 7.
Alongside the premiere announcement, the network has unveiled the second musical single from “the world’s first immortal rockstar,” Lestat de Lioncourt (played by Sam Reid), titled “All Fall Down.” The song features original music and lyrics by series composer Daniel Hart, performed by Reid himself.
The track will be featured in the show’s opening sequence, which can be viewed below.
Set against a rock and roll backdrop, the upcoming season follows Lestat as he embarks on an electric multi-city tour, haunted by “muses” from his rebellious past. As his band gains popularity and cultural clout, Lestat’s influence extends over both vampires and humans, complicating the landscape during the Great Conversion—a surge in the vampire population.
The series also includes performances by Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. It is executive produced by Mark Johnson, with Rolin Jones serving as creator, writer, and showrunner, alongside Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.
In a statement regarding the new single, Lestat commented, “All Fall Down is mercifully only 68 seconds long. That’s 54 seconds more Daniel Hart than anyone should suffer. I like the harmonies on the chorus. I did those.”
Hart further elaborated on the track, noting, “[It] marks a time in this vampire band’s life when they were still figuring out exactly what their sound was, and before Lestat himself started to change personas and explore other musical styles. With ‘All Fall Down,’ we tried to capture the overall feeling of this new Lestat we get to know better throughout the season: more wild, more raw, more self-deprecatingly funny than ever before.”
Technically, The Vampire Lestat serves as the third season of Interview with the Vampire, rebranded in honor of the title of the book that this season is based upon.
