Christopher Landon to Write and Direct ‘Final Boarding’ for Sony Pictures
Renowned filmmaker Christopher Landon is set to write and direct the supernatural horror film Final Boarding for Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems. The project is based on a short story by Clarence Hammond.
While specific plot details remain undisclosed, Landon plans to utilize both the source material and an earlier script adaptation by Javier Gullón, who joined the project last February.
Hammond will serve as a producer for the film.
Landon, known for his impactful contributions to the horror genre, recently completed Drop, a mystery thriller featuring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar, produced by Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes for Universal. Released in April, Drop received critical acclaim. Following its success, Landon announced a reunion with the Drop team for Blink of an Eye, a thriller he will direct, penned by past collaborators Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs. He will co-produce this project alongside Brad Fuller, Cameron Fuller, and Michael Bay, all of whom were involved with Drop.
In addition to Final Boarding, Landon has co-written and produced the horror comedy Heart Eyes for Screen Gems. He is widely recognized for directing Freaky and the Happy Death Day films. Notably, he played a significant role in developing the Paranormal Activity franchise at Paramount with Ashley Brucks, the current president of Screen Gems, during her previous tenure there. Landon is represented by WME, Mosaic, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
