Taylor Hale Celebrates Body Positivity in Playful Topless Photo Shoot for Playboy
Taylor Hale Reclaims Narrative in Playboy Photo Shoot
Taylor Hale, crowned Miss March by Playboy, embraces a profound moment of empowerment beyond the glamorous imagery of her recent photo shoot. The 31-year-old Hale, who made history as the first Black woman to win Big Brother, uses this platform to reclaim ownership of her body through sultry topless portraits and an impactful personal essay.
In her piece, Hale reflects on her experiences under constant surveillance during her time on Big Brother, noting the psychological complexities surrounding consent. “Inside the Big Brother house, I understood that I was being watched. It was explicit and contractual. But even there, the psychological boundaries of consent were more fraught than they appeared,” she writes.
Hale goes on to address the realities of her body being objectified online. “There are corners of the internet where fragments of my naked body exist,” she states. “They were clipped from live feeds by viewers who were not interested in the story I was living, but in the access this surveillance provided them.”
Highlighting her intentional choice in the shoot, Hale selected photographer Kanya Iwana, emphasizing the importance of working with a woman who shares her vision for empowerment. “I want these images to be something that allows me ownership over my body,” Hale explains.
Describing her Playboy collaboration as a reclaiming of her power, she admits, “Even now, I question writing about this experience. Technically, I consented to being filmed.” Hale raises critical questions about consent in the digital age, arguing that the circulation of one’s image without permission can equate to exploitation. “If your image exists publicly, it’s treated as public property,” she adds.

One photograph famously features Hale leaning forward seductively while covering her chest, showcasing her confidence against a backdrop of red velvet. Another display exudes her vibrant energy, as she poses in black pointed-toe pumps, displaying her glowing complexion.
Furthermore, Hale captures attention in a striking shot wearing a sheer thong with the iconic bunny logo. “Choosing to be photographed in this way, now, is a direct engagement with this new reality,” she states, asserting that her body does not become public property simply because it has been shared widely.
While limited images from this shoot are available now, more will soon grace the pages of Playboy’s Spring Issue, set to be released in April.
