Netflix Begins Production on ‘One Attempt Remaining’ in Los Angeles
Netflix, along with 21 Laps and Linden Productions, has officially started production on One Attempt Remaining, a crypto comedy directed by Kay Cannon. The project has added seven new cast members: Yara Shahidi, known for The Beekeeper 2; Nyambi Nyambi from The Good Fight; Larry Wilmore, featured in Jerry and Marge Go Large; Gilles Marini from 1923; Abdul Seidu, who appeared in Poser; Alan Barinholtz of Jury Duty; and Carol Mansell from Night Court.
Details about the characters remain undisclosed. Previously announced cast members include Jennifer Garner and John Cena, alongside Kate McKinnon and Aimee Carrero.
One Attempt Remaining centers on an ex-couple who, years after a contentious divorce, discover that a cryptocurrency they acquired during a wild night on a cruise is now worth millions. However, with only three days left before their account expires, they must piece together the events of that night—not only to recover the password to their newfound fortune, but also to rediscover the reasons behind their initial love.
The screenplay is co-written by Joe Boothe, Alexa Alemanni, and Cannon. The film is produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Levine from 21 Laps, alongside Nicole King from Linden Productions. Executive producers include Garner and Cannon, along with Becca Edelman and Deanna Barillari from Linden Productions, and Bergen Swanson.
