Los Angeles Rams Fortify Secondary with New Signing
The Los Angeles Rams are making significant strides in enhancing their secondary, drawing heavily from talent previously associated with the Kansas City Chiefs. In a move confirmed on Monday, the Rams have reached an agreement with cornerback Jaylen Watson, a person familiar with the situation reported. The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, indicated that details of the deal will not be official until Wednesday.
Watson’s contract spans three years and includes $34 million in guarantees, according to NFL Media.
Watson, who is 27 years old, joins fellow cornerback Trent McDuffie, who recently agreed to a long-term extension with the Rams valued at approximately $100 million in guaranteed money. Both players previously secured two Super Bowl titles during their tenure with the Chiefs.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 197 pounds, Watson recorded three interceptions throughout his career, including two in the last season. He began his football journey at Ventura College before transferring to Washington State. The Chiefs selected him in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Rams have been active as they reshape their secondary. In January, safety Quentin Lake received a three-year contract extension with $25 million in guarantees. Additionally, the Rams traded their 29th pick in the upcoming draft and other selections for McDuffie and recently secured a three-year deal with safety Kam Curl, worth around $24 million in guarantees.
Chargers Enhance Offense with New Tight End
The Los Angeles Chargers continue to bolster their offensive capabilities, recently agreeing to terms with former Baltimore Ravens tight end Charlie Kolar. The two parties reportedly finalized a three-year contract valued at $24.3 million, which includes $17 million in guarantees.
Recognized for his run-blocking prowess, Kolar is anticipated to significantly improve the Chargers’ running game, which struggled throughout last season, prompting head coach Jim Harbaugh to frequently rely on quarterback Justin Herbert.
Dodgers Prospect Ryan Ward Awaiting Opportunity
Ryan Ward, a 28-year-old prospect for the Los Angeles Dodgers, continues to await his chance in the major leagues after an impressive run in the minors. Drafted in the eighth round in 2019, he has played 402 games at triple-A Oklahoma City over the last three seasons. Last year, he was named the MVP of the Pacific Coast League, finishing with 36 home runs and a .290 batting average.
Despite his accomplishments, the Dodgers recently optioned Ward to Oklahoma City after a Cactus League game against the Athletics, prolonging his wait for a call-up to the big leagues.

Initially, Wasserman faced backlash following the exposure of inappropriate emails exchanged in 2003. Prominent figures have since distanced themselves from the agency, leading Wasserman to announce plans to sell the talent representation and sports marketing firm. Discussions with potential buyers are reportedly underway, according to an anonymous source familiar with the agency’s operations.
