Created by Max Thieriot, who also stars in the show, Fire Country emerged as the most-watched new series during the 2022-23 television season. Executive producers for Fire Country include Thieriot, Joan Rater, Tony Phelan, Bill Purple, along with Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed from JBTV. The series is produced by CBS Studios and distributed through Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Guggenheim co-developed the show with Peter Lenkov and initially served as executive producer on CBS Studios’ Magnum P.I. reboot. He took over as showrunner after Season 2 following an investigation that led to Lenkov’s departure. Guggenheim managed the series for the remainder of its five-season run, overseeing its move from CBS to NBC after Season 4.
Before that, he spent five seasons on the CBS/CBS Studios drama Hawaii Five-0, where he held the role of co-showrunner for Seasons 7 and 8. His other credits include the first four seasons of the NBC drama Parenthood and the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Harlan Coben’s limited series I Will Find You. Guggenheim is represented by CAA, Rain, and Ziffren Brittenham.
