Sharon and Kelly Osbourne Honor Ozzy in Heartfelt Tribute During Special Joint Appearance Seven Months After His Passing
Sharon and Kelly Osbourne Make Heartfelt Appearance at BRIT Awards
Sharon and Kelly Osbourne honored the late Ozzy Osbourne during a rare joint appearance at the BRIT Awards on February 28. The mother-daughter duo took the stage to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, who passed away in July.
Seven months following Ozzy Osbourne’s death, Sharon and Kelly made a poignant statement at the prestigious event held in Manchester. The pair walked the red carpet together, donning coordinated black outfits. Sharon presented a striking look in a tailored black suit paired with a polka dot tie and a white shirt, while Kelly complemented her in a classic black dress adorned with a feather stole.
During the ceremony, Sharon expressed her admiration for her husband as she accepted the award. “I’m honoured to accept this award from my gorgeous husband, this Lifetime Achievement Award. God knows, I wish he was here to accept it himself,” she remarked, with Kelly by her side.
Sharon emphasized Ozzy’s remarkable journey from humble beginnings in Birmingham to becoming an iconic figure in music. “He rose to become one of the most recognizable and respected musicians of his life, filled with extraordinarily wonderful high times but very, very real low times,” she shared. “But he never stopped tirelessly pushing himself to do better. He always wanted to do better both personally and professionally.”
Concluding her tribute, she noted, "If Ozzy was here tonight with us, he would be showing us that gorgeous smile that he had and I know he would be so proud to receive this from the country that he loved. So he may not be here, but he left us one amazing body of work that will never be forgotten by the country that made him."
Ozzy Osbourne’s family announced his death on July 22, with a heartfelt statement revealing the profound grief felt by his loved ones. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” they wrote. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
In a touching reflection, Kelly later shared lyrics from the Black Sabbath song "Changes" on social media, expressing her deep sadness. "I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had 💔."
Since Ozzy’s funeral on July 30, Sharon and Kelly have made only a few public appearances together, including a cocktail event in London last November and the Grammys in January, accompanied by Kelly’s brother, Jack. Their appearance at the BRIT Awards marked a significant moment of remembrance for the iconic musician.
