The 98th Oscars nominees came together on Tuesday at the Beverly Hilton for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ annual Oscars Nominees Luncheon. This event marks the final formal gathering of nominees before the Oscars ceremony on March 15, which will take place at the Dolby Theater.
Attendees included a diverse array of stars from various categories, such as Teyana Taylor, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Jessie Buckley, and Michael B. Jordan. The event also featured notable figures like Ryan Coogler, Emma Stone, Elle Fanning, and Chloé Zhao.
Director Jafar Panahi, actress Ruth E. Carter, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and other industry figures like Geeta Gandbhir and Diane Warren were also present, emphasizing the wide-reaching impact of this year’s nominees.
In terms of nominations, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners leads the pack with a record 16 nominations, while Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another follows closely with 13. These films are vying for Best Picture alongside Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, and Train Dreams.
This year’s Oscars will be hosted by Conan O’Brien and aired live on ABC, as well as streamed on Hulu. The event provides a unique opportunity for nominees to celebrate their achievements and connect with their peers before the awards ceremony.
