Tricia Wood Takes on New Role as EVP and Head of Casting at Walt Disney Studios
Tricia Wood Joins Walt Disney Studios as EVP & Head of Casting
Tricia Wood has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Head of Casting at Walt Disney Studios. This move comes following her tenure at Paramount Pictures, where she served as EVP of Casting since 2020, overseeing the casting for the studio’s feature film slate.
In her new role at Disney, Wood will report directly to David Greenbaum, President of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios. She will work closely with studio leadership and filmmakers to develop and guide casting strategies across Disney’s live-action projects, as well as for 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures.
Before her executive positions, Wood built a successful independent casting career in collaboration with Deborah Aquila, casting numerous commercially successful films over a span of two decades. Her notable credits include Twilight, the Oscar-winning La La Land, Wonder, Underworld, The Age of Adaline, The Lost City, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, IF, and the Academy Award-winning CODA.
Wood’s expertise in casting has not only launched major film franchises but has also been instrumental in identifying breakout talent and assembling ensembles that blend established stars with emerging voices. She has received multiple Casting Society Artios Awards for her work on films such as CODA, La La Land, My Week With Marilyn, and RED.
