Noah Wyle Honored as TV Showperson of the Year by ICG Publicists
The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) has announced that Noah Wyle, known for his work in Emmy-winning shows, will be honored with the 2026 Television Showperson of the Year Award during the upcoming ICG Publicists Awards.
Wyle, celebrated for his role in HBO Max’s The Pitt and as a veteran of ER, will receive the accolade next month. The ICG Publicists Awards highlight innovation in film and television production, recognizing individuals who exemplify a distinct spirit of showmanship.
In The Pitt, Wyle portrays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. The series offers a realistic view of the challenges healthcare workers face in contemporary America, following their experiences in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh. Wyle earned an Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama Series last year, while The Pitt also received accolades, including Outstanding Drama Series for its inaugural season, contributing to a resurgence in the medical drama genre. The series’ Season 2 premiered last month, attracting significant attention with 939 million minutes viewed, which placed it at No. 7 on overall streaming charts and fifth among original streaming content. The show has already been renewed for a third season.
Wyle first gained recognition in 1995 as Dr. John Carter on NBC’s groundbreaking medical drama ER. He became the longest-serving cast member, featuring in over 250 episodes across 12 seasons as well as the show’s 15th season. His portrayal of Carter led to five consecutive Emmy nominations for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series from 1995 to 1999. Wyle’s television career also includes roles in The Librarians, Falling Skies, and The Red Line.
